Paul McCartney Admits Marrying Heather Mills Was a Mistake
- Posted on Dec 11th 2009 12:00PM by Emily Tan
Everyone makes mistakes, Paul McCartney included. The former Beatle recently admitted that marrying Heather Mills is one of the biggest errors of his life. "I suppose it has to be a prime contender," McCartney told Q Magazine. "But I don't wanna down anyone."Although the marriage may have been bad, McCartney does reveal that his six-year-old child Beatrice, who he had with Mills, was a highlight. "These things happen, y'know?" he said. "But I tend to look at the positive side, which is that I have a beautiful daughter out of it."
McCartney and Mills married in 2002 and divorced in 2008 with a £24.3 million (nearly $40 million US) settlement. While he never mentioned Mills' name during the interview, he talked about his new girlfriend, transportation industry executive and New York MTA board member Nancy Shevell, admitting that the relationship and spending time with his children were some of the best things about this century so far.
While there have been rumors that the 67-year-old musician will stop performing, McCartney said he has no plans of retiring just yet. "I have too much fun," McCartney said. "Why should I retire? Sit at home and watch telly? No thanks. I'd rather be out playing."

I saw the Beatles perform at the Hollywood Bowl (65-66).to this day that evening is a highlight in my life (of course I was only 8) but oh man..
I even had a Beatle band in my neighborhood growing up- I confess I was always John-
But nonetheless- this is the best music and our generation will always be grateful to the boys from Liverpool for shaping our lives!Heartfelt memories to George and John..
Paul and Ringo PLEASE come out in concert!! Love to all 4 of you!!
most woman marry for money, that's just a fact

Reality check finally happened for him, apparently. Good for him. Fair is fair. He loved her youth, she loved his money. They weren't the first and won't be the last.

December 13 2009 at 1:53 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyPaul and Linda McCartney had a very codependent and unhealthy marriage. I read more than once that they got stoned together just about every day. The women Paul dated before Linda couldn't put up with him despite his celebrity...Linda was just a real caretaker. Just because two people are totally dependent for a really long time doesn't mean they have a good relationship. And just because he's hugely famous doesn't mean he is a good partner. Heather may have been a gold digger but she didn't create that mess by herself...I think she's gotten a very bad rap.

He's 24.3 million lbs. lighter for marrying "what's her name?" Ignorance is the MOST expensive thing we pay for. Paul - don't make the same mistake again.

AS FOR WHAT PAUL SAID, I knew from the beginning he was doing something really stupid. She WAS & IS a GOLDDIGGER! I could see from the start she only wanted his money and whatever 'fame' she could get from it.
KEVIN, KEEP 'EM COMING!!
Great comment, Kevin. Now, I have to go clean up the cereal that I spit out of my mouth for laughing so hard. I feel very sad for anyone who can't see the humor in your comment. Brilliant!
