Displaying the kind of work ethic last seen some time in the late 1970s, Leicester's favourite sons Kasabian have revealed that they've already started working on their next album, the follow-up to this year's 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum.'Speaking with internet radio station Dabbl, the band's front man Tom Meighan said that the band were seeking inspiration from Pink Floyd's 1973 album, 'Dark Side of the Moon.' "[Guitarist] Sergio [Pizzorno]'s got a body of work already, its very 'Dark Side Of The Moon', Pink Floyd.
"[Its] very essential and very beautiful, piano-based songs that sound beautiful and we're going to really grunge them up a bit."
Yet despite the band's best intentions, Meighan conceded Kasabian's current touring commitments would keep them out of the studio for some time to come.
"We're nearly there," he said. "But we've just got to go and take 'West Ryder [Pauper Lunatic Asylum]' round the world and show it to people."
As previously reported in Spinnermusic, Kasabian are indeed going to be showing the album to a lot of people next year as they have already been confirmed as headliners at next summer's T In The Park festival.
