Brian Setzer Released From Hospital

Since 2002, Brian Setzer has been giving the Trans-Siberian Orchestra a run for their holiday money as far as Christmas shows are concerned. For the past seven years, he's routinely taken his Brian Setzer Orchestra on the road during the holiday season to perform rockabilly versions of Christmas classics.
But on Monday, the former Stray Cat and rockabilly star was only a few songs into his show at the Isleta Casino in Albuquerque, N.M. when he was rushed to the hospital, leaving the sold-out crowd stunned and confused. A message appeared today on Setzer's official website offering the following explanation, "Brian was briefly hospitalized ... after a combination of dehydration, high altitude and vertigo made him unable to continue his performance."
The message reports that Setzer has already made a full recovery and that the show will go on, beginning with Tuesday night's performance in Phoenix, Ariz. Whew. Looks like Santa Claus -- or at least a certain Gretsch-swinging jingle bell rocker -- is still coming to town.
