Oasis' Liam Gallagher says the band -- now known as Oasis 2.0 -- want to release their first post-Noel Gallagher album next summer. The singer, who has vowed to keep the band together following his brother's walkout at a Paris festival in August, said fans should expect a new album next year.
"I'd like to have a record out by July next year," he told the News of the World newspaper. "We've already done about three songs and they're f------ sounding amazing."
Liam also told the newspaper the band's sound is not expected to change radically now they have lost their chief songwriter.
"It ain't a new direction," he explained. "We're not making reggae music or rap music. It might have a bit more energy and be fresher. It's not going to be that different," he added.
Bassist Andy Bell is expected to play guitar in the new group, along with Gem Archer, with a new bass player will join the group.
It is widely rumoured Noel Gallagher will release a solo album next year, though no firm details have been made public.
