Silversun Pickups 'Bewildered' by Grammy Nomination

If you form a rock 'n' roll band, the game plan is simple: get a record deal, make a video, tour the world and pick up a Grammy along the way. Los Angeles' Silversun Pickups seem to be sticking to that plan. They can check all those off the list except for the Grammy, and one of those nifty little awards may actually be in the band's immediate future, as they were just nominated for Best New Artist. Never mind that the Pickups have been at it since 2005 -- that kind of detail is actually a common, comical protest for the Grammy's "best new artists" every year. It's all gravy, of course, but for an indie rock band such as the Pickups, does a Grammy really even matter? "Look, we're still quite bewildered by the whole thing," frontman Brian Aubert tells Spinner. "Does it really matter to us? No. Absolutely not. But it does feel nice to get the nod. We're proud of that. We keep joking about where we are going to
keep our nominations."
That's the spirit. Next up: money and fame. Oh, and an arena tour of North America, opening for Muse, this spring. Grammy or no Grammy, one can safely say, "Silversun Pickups, for the win."
