Hankering after some snarling proto-punk with your ice creams and donkey rides? You're in luck. Iggy and the Stooges have just been added to line-up for everyone's favourite holiday camp-based festival, All Tomorrow's Parties. The leather-faced garage rocker turned car insurance pitch man and his band are among seven new names announced for the May 7-9 weekender at Butlin's in Minehead, Somerset, which this year is being curated by 'The Simpsons' creator Matt Groening.
Other newly revealed Groening picks include indie rock godfathers Built to Spill, Paris-based freak folk duo Coco Rosie, Congolese group Konono No.1 and Argentinian singer-songwriter Juana Molina.
James Chance and Les Contortions, Thee Oh Sees and Lightning Dust have also had appearances scheduled alongside previously reported acts like Deerhunter, Panda Bear and Daniel Johnston, while more names are set to be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets for ATP are still available and range from £163.50 to £173.50 per person.
Rumours that Iggy Pop only signed up for the Butlin's bash as he fancies his chances of winning the knobbly knees contest are unconfirmed.
