Elly Jackson, one half of the London-based electro duo La Roux has declared that they will be making a "less mainstream album" as a follow up to last June's self-titled debut.Speaking to BBC 6 Music Jackson says of their next album's sound, "I think it's probably going to go a lot less mainstream, but it's a bit of a gamble."
She added, "I'm certainly not going to try and make a mainstream record and I'm not going to try and make a non-mainstream record. We're going to make the record that me and Ben want to make, but I have a feeling its going to be less mainstream."
However, don't get your hopes up for a release in the immediate future. Speaking to 6 Music in November, Jackson warned: "We've only got two weeks writing time between Christmas and the summer so unless we manage to write a record in two weeks I don't think there will be anything in terms of a second record for a while."
Meanwhile, La Roux have also just been announced to perform at the BRIT Awards Nominations Launch at the IndigO2 on Monday Jan. 18. The duo will perform alongside BRITs Critics' Choice winner Ellie Goulding and Pixie Lott at the launch for the BRIT Awards themselves, which take place in London for the 30th time on Feb. 16.
