Forty years after the traumatic break-up of the Beatles and the Fab Four's erstwhile drummer Ringo Starr has revealed he and former colleague Sir Paul McCartney have been reunited for a couple of tracks on his new album, 'Y Not.'Speaking of the collaboration with Billboard.com, Starr said the original plan was for Sir Paul to appear as a bassist on just one track, 'Peace Dream', but his guest soon had different ideas when he also added vocals to 'Walk with You.'
He said, "He heard that one and said, 'Gimme a pair of (headphones) and give me a track. I want to do something on that.' And then he just did that follow [vocal]. He comes in a beat after me ... so that's how that ended up."
Sir Paul isn't the only big name to appear on the album. Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh, singer Joss Stone, Ben Harper and All Starr Band members Edgar Winter, Billy Squier, Gary Wright and Richard Marx are all set to make a contribution.
Starr plans to hit the road with the All Starr Band later in the year.
