The Klaxons' long-awaited second album is nearing completion according to the band and their producer Ross Robinson.Singer Jamie Reynolds has told NME the album has been inspired by shamanism and the Mayan prophecy that the world will end in 2012.
"2012's a realignment. Its the coming of the fifth or sixth sun, whichever way you look at it,"says Reynolds. "Its the end of the Mayan Long Count. It just works mathematically, physically and in prophecy. This whole record is just a positive message for the time. That's it."
As for the sound of the album, Robinson (famous for his work with Korn and Slipknot) wrote on his Twitter account,"This is a very violent, melodic album. Sounds & feels like the future & the future kicks ass-now."
Early sessions for the album had been troubled after sessions with James Ford and Tony Visconti were scrapped but the Mercury Award winning combo say they've finally discovered the right producer in Robinson. "We're here until its done," said Reynolds, talking of the LA-based producer's home studio. "I think its gonna blow people's minds."
Tracks on the album are reported to include 'Echoes,' 'Future Memories' and 'Valley Of The Calm Trees.'
