Billy Corgan has posted another new Smashing Pumpkins song online, as part of the work-in-progress 'Teargarden By Kaleidyscope' album. The free download, entitled 'Widow Make Up My Mind,' is part of Corgan's ongoing 44-track free project. As Corgan told Spinner in a video interview in December, the band plan to release the new material online, one at a time, for free -- no strings attached. The songs will also eventually be released as a series of 11 EPs.
The first track 'A Song For A Son' was made available in Dec. 2009, and both releases are downloadable from the Smashing Pumpkins website now.
Aside from prolifically writing new Smashing Pumpkins material, Corgan also announced this month that he has started an as-yet-unnamed record label. He confirmed, "We are very excited to be collaborating with amazing artists that have made a huge impact on the underground music world ... From the psychedelic garage rock of the 60's and the punk rock insanity of the 70's and 80's to the post-punk Pleiadian power-pop that is now."
Artists on the new label include the Germs, the Electric Prunes and Strawberry Alarm Clock as well as new acts Fancy Space People, YaHoWha 13 and Starchildren.
