Flaming Lips Frontman Caught by Google Streetview ... in a Bath

The Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne has been captured by Google Streetview's cameras, sitting in a bathtub outside his home in Oklahoma City.

The photo has been verified by fans on the Flaming Lips official online forum as being of the bearded 49-year-old frontman, who is shown sitting astride a bath under a crudely drawn banner that reads 'blob in the bath.' The sign and the bathtub have previously been featured in videos on the Flaming Lips' MySpace page.

It is reported that the outdoor tub was a prop used for a Halloween party thrown by Coyne and his wife Michelle in 2007.

This latest 'celebrity' Streetview grab comes after Liam Gallagher was reportedly captured enjoying a beer outside a Camden pub in June 2008. British comedian Dave Gorman and the Stig from TV show 'Top Gear' are others to be caught by Streetview's lens in recent times.

As previously reported on Spinner, the Flaming Lips have been announced as the first headliner for this year's Green Man festival in August.

Love it! This is far more interesting than the original topic.

I had no trouble reading all the above replies.

Of course our offspring should learn to spell correctly and so should professional writers. The problem is the English language itself. As one of the oldest written scripts, people have been messing about with it for a thousand years. It is just way too complicated to get right first time or without a spell checker. This is obviously true for most of us, even the writing snobs who posted above.

I take some pride when I write. If the text is going to be read by anyone but my friends, I always run the text through a checker and inevitably a mistake or two are found. I am a member of many forums, mostly frequented by Americans and a few other nationalities. Occasionally, someone mentions the poor grammar and starts off yet another heated discussion. Correct grammar is just not relevant.

In this short post, I found two mistakes, I spelled grammar wrong (grammer).

Crystal, what does critizing mean?

Don't you feel embarrassed now?

People should not take spelling so seriously. Writing is mainly a form of communication. If you can understand what is written, then the object has been achieved, especially on trashy articles like this.

But remember, we aren't getting paid to write our comments. If anyone should use proper spelling and grammar, it'd be the paid author of an article.

People shouldn't take spelling so seriously? Our kids are reading this junk. I don't think we want them thinking that bad grammar is acceptable. Do you? Our educational system is bad enough as it is. People are getting college degrees and still can't form a proper sentence. It's actually very sad.

That was sort of the point Crystal. The comment was structured as such intentionally. Thanks for pointing it out for me.

Does anyone ever proof read these pathetic articles? It is like reading something writen by a 3rd grader. Poor sentence structures, incomplete sentences, and missing words that change sentence meanings. Just absolutely

Before critizing someone's article, proofread your own. You also have an incomplete sentence and a mispelled word.
Written is spelled with 2 t's not one.

writ⋅ten  /ˈrɪtn/
verb 1. a pp. of write.
adjective 2. expressed in writing (distinguished from spoken ).

As for your incomplete sentence "just absolutely".
Just absolutely what?
Practice what you preach.
