The Killers to Take Time Off After Australian Tour

The Killers have announced they are taking a taking an 'indefinite hiatus' from touring and recording after finishing up their tour down under next month. The Las Vegas quartet begin their Asian tour in Singapore this week, ending in Melbourne on Feb. 21. After that, says guitarist Dave Keuning, they will be out of action for the foreseeable future.
"I'm not sure if people are aware of it but these are probably our last shows for a while," Keuning told the Australian news agency AAP. "We haven't had a break in quite a while. It's just been touring and making records and on and on and on. It's been just six years just kind of connected together."
He added, "It's like people just expect us to do that non-stop before we die, but we just want a little bit of time off, just to be myself and do what I want to do for a little bit."
Keuning added he was looking forward to spending time with his young son.
The Killers' last album, 'Day & Age', came out in 2008 and the band spent most of 2009 on the road.
The announcement of a break comes little more than a month after singer Brandon Flowers denied claims he was considering launching a solo career.
