Spoon (pictured), James Mercer of the Shins, Yo La Tengo, Elvis Perkins and Jose Gonzalez are among the artists to contribute cover songs for a Valentine's Day compilation album released by Starbucks. The coffee chain released the first in its 'Sweetheart' album series in 2005 on its Hear Music imprint, with a second LP put out for Valentine's Day 2009.
The 2010 version features Texas rockers Spoon covering 'Love Song' by The Damned, with Gonzalez wrapping his dulcet tones around Kylie Minogue's 1989 hit 'Hand On Your Heart'. Yo La Tengo reinterpret the Zombies' 'You Make Me Feel Good' while James Mercer teams up with his half-brother Robert for Bob Dylan's 1964 track 'Spanish Harlem Incident' from the 'Another Side of Bob Dylan' album, Pitchfork reported.
Elvis Perkins contributes the traditional 'Teneme en Tu Corazon (Keep Me in Your Heart)', while other artists to feature on the 14-track album include Grand Archives, the Avett Brothers and Mates of State. The album is currently available for purchase on iTunes.
