The New Pornographers' New Album Details Revealed

American/Canadian indie supergroup the New Pornographers have announced details of their forthcoming fifth studio album, 'Together' -- and they have enlisted the help of several guest artists.The core line-up of songwriters A.C. Newman and Dan Bejar are joined once again by regular members Neko Case, John Collins, Kurt Dahle, Kathryn Calder, Todd Fancey, and Blaine Thurier.
The Matador album, set for release on May 4, also features St. Vincent 's Annie Clark, Okkervil River's Will Sheff, Beirut's Zach Condon as well as horns provided by the Dap-Kings.
The band's label describe the new album, posting on the Matador website, "You don't need us to tell you the album is great ... but we'll say it anyway. It's amazing, more varied, deeper, and broader than its predecessors. Please just look forward to extreme enjoyment. First MP3 coming soon."
'Together' was recorded in Vancouver, Brooklyn, Woodstock, and Catskill, N.Y. -- and has been produced by Phil Palazzolo, who co-produced the New Pornographers' fourth album 'Challengers' in 2007.
A.C. Newman is also set to appear, alongside New Jersey singer Nicole Atkins and Cold War Kids at a Haiti benefit gig next week -- performing at Brooklyn, NY's Bell House next Wednesday Jan. 27. Profits are being donated to Save The Children and Partners In Health.
