Weezer Return to Live Action

Just seven weeks after their horrific accident Weezer made a triumphant return to live work when they played the Florida State University Wednesday night (Jan. 20). The accident, which occurred on Dec. 6 while the band was traveling to Boston form Toronto, left frontman Rivers Cuomo with a punctured lung, broken ribs and cut spleen. The singer's wife and daughter were on the tour bus during the accident but were not injured.

A posting on the band's blog said of the show, "Well, all I can say is wow! What a crowd, what a show. Incredible energy tonight."

Opening with fan favourite 'Hash Pipe', Weezer were later joined by Paramore's Hayley Williams for 'Say It Ain't So' and rapper-producer Jermaine Dupri -- who made it up from DJ-ing at the venue's V.I.P. lounge - on 'Can't Stop Partying'.

Allaying any fears that perhaps he was re-entering the fray too early despite still being in some pain, an ebullient Cuomo gushed, "Once I got out there and saw the crowd... I couldn't stop!"
