Bloc Party guitarist Russell Lissack has teamed up with New York songwriter Milena Mepris for a new electronic pop rock album under the banner Pin Me Down. With a one-off vinyl-only single 'Cryptic' released by hip French label Kitsune last year, the first album is set for release later this year -- but in the meantime a brand new track 'Time Crisis' has been made available as a free download from the duo's website.
Former member of NY electro guitar band Black Moustache, Mepris recorded her vocals in New York, whilst Lissack worked on the road with Bloc Party (frontman Kele Okereke pictured), using the internet to email music and lyrics to each other.
Bloc Party announced late last year that they would be taking a 'lengthy break' and Kele Okereke is reportedly recording a solo album with producer Hudson Mohawke.
The band released their third and possibly last album 'Intimacy' in 2008.
