The figure was announced from the stage by singer Thom Yorke. The concert -- the band's first since their headlining set at last year's Reading Festival -- had only been announced two days before the performance and saw the debut of a new song, 'Lotus Flower', which had previously been played at a Thom Yorke solo gig.
Radiohead treated fans who had paid between $450 -$2000 for tickets to a colossal 24 -track set that included 'Nude', 'Karma Police' and 'The National Anthem' as well as two encores. Attending the concert were Justin Timberlake, film director Paul Thomas Anderson and actress Drew Barrymore.
The concert formed part of Oxfam's emergency response for Haiti which, as previously reported on Spinner, offers fans the chance to bid on items such Chris Martin's Coldplay tour jacket, Arctic Monkey Alex Turner's white Fender Stratocaster and a specially composed piece of music by Damon Albarn.
