Grizzly Bear Pen Music for Upcoming Philip Seymour Hoffman Film

If your film is lacking in the music department, Grizzly Bear is the current go-to band to fill that void. As Spinner previously reported, the Brooklyn band has already contributed the soulful track 'Slow Life' to the 'New Moon' soundtrack as well as scored for the Sundance Film Festival buzz film, 'Blue Valentine,' which stars sometimes Dead Man's Bones frontman Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. Now it appears that Grizzly Bear hasn't stopped there. TwentyFourBit notes that reviews for both Gosling's movie and Philip Seymour Hoffman's film, 'Jack Goes Boating,' revealed that the band has also scored music for Hoffman's directorial debut.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the movie's music was a collaboration between Evan Lurie, who founded the Lounge Lizards, and Grizzly Bear. "The impressionistic mood of the film is greatly enhanced by a gentle, piano-centric score by Even Lurie coupled with the feathery, cerebral harmonies of the Brooklyn band Grizzly Bear," the article said.
However, Variety gives primary music credit to Grizzly Bear and an "additional music" nod to Lurie." While we're not sure who's the driving force for 'Jack Goes Boating,' it's obvious that filmmakers love Grizzly Bear's music.
