Seattle rock pioneers Sunny Day Real Estate have announced their debut UK live gig, following the band's reformation after a 15-year hiatus last year. The show, at London's HMV Forum on Apr. 22, will be part of their as-yet-unannounced European tour, and tickets for the one-off show go on sale Friday Jan. 29 at 10am.
The reunited band features all four original members -- Jeremy Enigk, William Goldsmith, Dan Hoerner and Nate Mendel -- and since last year have completed a US tour.
Sunny Day Real Estate have also already started confirming festival appearances, with a slots at Australia's Soundwave in March and Coachella in the US in April too.
Nate Mendel, who is also currently playing bass for Foo Fighters, says in a press statement, "I don't think any of us really ever considered, much less believed it possible, that we would ever get together and make music again, so it is incredible that we're getting a chance to come over to the UK and play. We are genuinely grateful that there exists a large enough store of goodwill toward the band to allow us to finally make it over there, and we plan on doing anything we can to make it a memorable trip."
Sub Pop Records have reissued remastered versions of Sunny Day Real Estate's 'Diary' and 'LP2' albums, with added bonus material and new liner notes.
