Most indie artists hope to one day get a song placed on a popular TV show. Mike Grubbs, frontman of Wakey!Wakey! actually impressed producers of 'One Tree Hill' so much that they tapped him for a recurring role on the show as a bartender. The increased exposure has helped the baroque indie-pop musician build buzz around his upcoming album, 'Almost Everything I Wish I'd Said the Last Time I Saw You,' which features standout track 'Twenty Two.'"With the new album, people can expect a whole new sound from W!W!. We'll still have dark haunting tracks ... but we're also giving you some more danceable and open sounding songs," Grubbs tells Spinner. The multi-talented artist also hopes to show his deeper musical ambitions with the new album. "There are songs where the musical delivery will be bright, but the underlying topic matter is actually darker, like 'Twenty Two.'" Have a listen to the exclusive song premiere after the jump.
