When Robert De Niro famously used the line "You talking to me?" in the 1976 movie 'Taxi Driver,' he was simply reiterating an inquiry from the Boss: DeNiro heard Bruce Springsteen ask that question in concert and realized it'd be the perfect line for his character. Later, he confessed his inspiration to Clarence Clemens while the E Street Band member was teaching De Niro saxophone for a role in 1977's 'New York, New York.'- Filed under: Music Appreciation
