Steven Tyler Serenades Shoppers at Home Depot

Who says that rehab can't be fun? Seemingly taking a break from a clinic in California for an addiction to pain killers, rubber-lipped Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler was engaged in a bizarre incident last weekend when he treated shoppers at the Rancho Mirage branch of hardware store Home Depot to a capella renditions of 'Dude Looks Like a Lady' and 'I Don't Want to Miss a Thing.'

TMZ
reports that instead of asking for a price check or calling for assistance at the check-out counter, the singer used the store's loudspeaker speaker for his renditions. And if that wasn't enough, Tyler is then reported to have taken several hits from a helium tank before singing in a high-pitched Bee Gees-style voice.

Proving himself to be a good sport and all-round decent chap, Tyler then signed autographs for anybody who wanted one, it's reported.

All of which begs the question as to why Tyler's Aerosmith bandmates are reportedly bothering to audition for a new singer. As if to prove the point, the singer last week sang his own 'I Don't Want To Miss A Thing' at a karaoke night in a pub in Palm Springs after two punters were booed off stage for making a hash of the song.

I grew up with Steven! He is from Yonkers, NY and
is proud of it! He was always a great guy even when
we were in High School, although he is a bit older!
He was in bands then and it was clear that he was
going to "be a star"! There is no Aerosmith without
him, as everyone else says, he is Aerosmith!!!

@raul, Yeah, only difference is, Sambora is happy to be the "right-hand man" so to speak, and has said so many times. He and Jon Bon Jovi are always gushing about each other, saying how they're best friends, brothers, and all that jazz. Which is probably why Bon Jovi is so drama free. A lot of bands (ahem... Aerosmith) could take a lesson from them.

The clash of personalities and egos between Joe Perry and Steven Tyler is what's going to be the end of Aerosmith. Perry needs to get off his ego trip and Tyler needs to get his act together, if the band is going to make it through this mess. I've loved them for years, but it's getting hard to stick with them through this.

The Toxic Twins are alive and well . . . Joe Perry is the wanna-be that never could, and Steven, well, he was just being Steven . . . it just goes to show that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. It is too bad they can't figure that out and get on with it . . .

I have been an Aerosmith fan for as long as I can remember. Without Steven Tyler, it's not Aerosmith, it's the Joe Perry Project...period! He's an idiot for even thinking Aerosmith can work without Steven.I damn sure would not pay to see them without Tyler. There are just some band members that can't be replaced!

I do agree Tyler is Areosmith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The guys in the band are amazing also. I guess they need each other. I don't think too many people would buy a CD or see a concert if Steven Tyler was not the singer showman. Joe Perry is a smart guy his new group is awesome he knows people would buy his solo CD and go see his band in concert before doing the same for a Tyler less Areosmith. I wish them all luck and bet they all be back in time
