Pete Doherty to Be Questioned in Death of Robin Whitehead

Pete DohertyIt's been a rough week for Pete Doherty. On Wednesday, the Babyshambles frontman was fined over £750 ($1200) for bringing heroin into a U.K. courtroom and now, according to a report in the Sun, the one-time Libertine is going to be grilled by police about the death of his documentary filmmaker Robin Whitehead.

Whitehead, a 27-year-old who the Sun claims was an ex-girlfriend of Doherty, died in a flat in Homerton in London's East End on Sunday. Doherty allegedly once lived at the apartment and may have been there the day before Whitehead's passing.

"Peter had been at the flat on Saturday night and left a lot of drugs behind rather than take them with him, because he's such an easy target for the police to search," a friend told the newspaper. "Robin had been using heroin and crack cocaine. She also took some Valium to get to sleep and never woke up."

Doherty is expected to be asked if he provided the drugs that killed Whitehead. Meanwhile, Peter 'Wolfman' Wolfe, a collaborator and friend of Doherty's says the famous musician has an alibi. Wolfe told the Sun that his pal hadn't been at Whitehead's flat last weekend.

In reply to what has Pete Doherty done to be famous--He's a rock musician with long history of heavy drug abuse, public incidents/trouble/arrests as a result;has highly publicized relationship with Supermodel Kate Moss(or once was Supermodel)

It is apparently obvious that none of you are true music fans, just gossip fans. If you truly appreciated music then you would understand why Pete Doherty is famous. He truly is an amazing singer/songwriter, who happens to suffer from a horrible addiction. Try listening to some of his music and you can feel the pain that he possess. Yes he is constantly being arrested but the same can be said for others in the music industry i.e keith richards. Stop gossiping about what you dont know.

How come this guy isn't in prison? Heroin IN court and he gets a $1200 fine? I mean is England THAT liberal? It's not like this guy hasn't been busted over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Whats this guy done to be famous anyway?

No kidding--Heroin IN Courtoom and only a measly $1200 fine?? Especially after many prior convictions/arrest for drugs-would think be busted, in jail with high bond, etc--Just fined $1200?? That damn sure wouldn't happen in US-I mean possesion of controlled substance-narcotics with priors and especially slapping law enforcement in the face by having in courtroom to boot!!And author says he had a rough week, got off basically Scot-free with $1200 fine(small changeespecially for him being rockstar-sure he goes thru that $ amount of drugs in coupla days. Around here that amount wouldn't even cover th 10% to the bondsman to bond out--then there's lawyer fees(prob $10,000 anyway), court appearances and Jail/Prison time. I was appalled also, saw your comment and had to reply--Right on Bro!

Actually this specimen of an individual gives the British a very poor name! I totally agree that he has made a mockery of the English Judicial, however I lay blame at the lawyers and the European law’s feet! Cherrie Blair has lots 2 answer for in my opinion…… Plus the small minded individuals that actually think this is an acceptable behaviour pattern and then go and purchase his “creativity”… Grow up quick….

It must be that the producers and managers and label go for the addict, perhaps even encouraging the behavior at the beginning if it was anything like reported in the 60's and on. What idoiot takes heroin into court? So wasted, or worried about outcome, his life-he's not handling. Take away his drugs, will he loose his creative edge? His addict friend, who might have liked his stuff, helped herself to it, he's not her keeper. Who is to say that she didn't supply for him, tradsies for allowing a book to be done or something. The industry seems to make many take the path.

While he may be a DRUG ADDICT I doubt he forced them down her throat! Fame makes people STUPID,and they trust the WRONG FOLKS including their performers, agents etc... What they need is a MOM around to keep trash from filitering through so maybe just maybe they would live a long life. It's sad so many young people with talent die from STUPITY!

If the cops can find a way to hang it on him, he's toast.
Does it occur to anyone else that the record companies sign drug addled simpletons because they're easier to rip off than clear thinking musicians?
