Ron Wood Enters Rehab for Eighth Time

Ron WoodFollowing a tumultuous breakup with his much younger girlfriend and rumors of his drinking spiraling out of control, Ron Wood has checked into rehab. According to the Daily Mail, this marks the eighth time that the Rolling Stones guitarist has sought treatment for his problem.

Wood allegedly arrived at a clinic in London on Friday after bandmate Mick Jagger, his daughter Leah and other family members urged him to clean up his act. "Mick has always been helpful and supportive of Ronnie when he gets in trouble and falls off the wagon," an unnamed friend of Wood's told the paper. "The news Ronnie's decided to go into rehab is really pleasing for Mick. He has always urged him to get help when he's had his problems -- and this case was no different. Mick's just delighted he's taken heed and is trying to get himself straight."

The last time Wood tried to dry out was in 2008 after he broke up with his wife of 23 years, Jo, to date Ekaterina Ivanova, a cocktail waitress and model in her 20s. That romance lasted until December 2009, when the 62-year-old was arrested for allegedly assaulting her. Rumors have been floating around that the Stones would fire Wood because of his problems, but the Daily Mail's source claims that his job his safe.

"They've known him a long time and he's a great mate," the friend said. "They are all like brothers and they just like to look after each other when they're in trouble and not threaten one another."

I USE ALL CAPS BECAUSE I NEVER LEARNED TO TYPE. IF IT IS SUCH A BIG DEAL, I suppose that i can switch to no caps, but I will make a resolution, NOW, to type correctly, caps when apprpriate and no caps out of mere laziness. Wish me luck........

To all of you who say that people who go through rehab more than once or several times, might as well die or aren't worth anything anymore. You would feel different if it were your loved one. Go tell your Mom or Dad, you should just be put down like a dog. Better yet, I hope someone says that to you when you are down and out.

Kudos to Ronnie for again trying.....after all a lot of people do not bother.......he is showing intestinal fortitude and should not be ridiculed.

SORRY DUDE BUT I DO THE SAME THING, ITS NIGHT ABOUT SHOWING PEOPLE THAT WE ARE PISSED OFF AND YELLING IS USUALLY ASSOCIATED WITH CAPS. FOR ME I JUST USE THEM CAUSE I AN JUST TO LAZY IF YOU DON'T LIKE CAPS THEN JUST MOVE ON, AS FAR AS RONNIE WOOD GOING INTO REHAB (WHAT A JOKE :( ) HE IS A COMPLETE MORON, "HEY I'M RON WOODS I AM IN THE ROLLING STONES AND I CAN DO WHATEVER THE HELL I WANT " OVER THE YEARS THE STONES, ALL MEMBERS, HAVE DONE ENOUGH DRUGS AND DRANK ENOUGH ALCOHOL TO TO FEED A LARGE THIRD WORLD DUMP SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE EAST. JUST LOOK AT KEITH RICHARDS DISGUSTING FACE AL SCREWED UP BY AGE AND HIS DRUG USE MOSTLY FROM HIS DRUG ABUSE OH GIVES A CRAP I THING IF I WAS IN A ROCK BAND AS LONG AS THEY HAVE BEEN AND TO STILL SOLD OUT AUDIENCES. I WOULD HAVE PROBABLY BE DRUGIN UP AND WITHOUT A DOUBT I WOULD HAVE ALSO DRANK A TON OF ALCOHOL. THEY ALSO HAD THE WOMEN TO COME BACK STAGE DOING WHAT EVER THEY WANTED TO DO, AND SOME OF THEM BEING A ROADIE. ALL I KNOW IS THEIR RIDE IS- WILD AS HELL

It is one thing to experiment with crap when you are in your twenties, invincible and stupid. It is something altogether different when you are 62 and can't break the hold. If this was a disease that could be cured by prescription, all of the phamaceutical companies on Earth would have been in the business and making boxcar loads of money off it by now.

People like Ron Wood, after having failed so many times, are incapable of stopping just by themselves. Who likes to admit they failed at something as important as this eight times....there has to be much more to it. And, waking up after getting totally hammered isn't a feeling that would drive any normal person to do it again anytime soon.

Having friends that are in AA, and many of them having been sober for twenty+ years, there has to be something to the support those people get from each other. It comes from perfect strangers even while on the road as some I know are in sales and attend AA meetings while traveling in distant towns. Hopefully, Ronnie has the strength to break the cycle and stick with a support group of some kind as otherwise his next tour with the Stones will be as a soloist in a trailing hearse.

The ironic part is that Keith could be his driver. That in itself is reason enough to want to stick with the program.
