With their first nomination for Album of the Year, the Dave Matthews Band performed 'You and Me' with a percussion ensemble, a string section augmenting violinist Boyd Tinsley and a backing choir helping Matthews. During the bridge, Matthews took time to do a rather funky dance before coming back to finish out the song. The cut was introduced by Adam Sandler, who mentioned the death of original DMB saxophonist LeRoi Moore, setting up the song as a fitting tribute to their former bandmate and friend.
The Dave Mathews Band's latest release, 'Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King,' is up against Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, the Black Eyed Peas and Beyonce.
