Green Day Win Best Rock Album at Grammys
After putting on a show-stopping performance with the cast of the upcoming 'American Idiot' musical, Green Day walked away from the Grammys on Sunday night with a Best Rock Album win. The California rockers beat out AC/DC, U2, Dave Matthews Band and Eric Clapton with Steve Winwood.
Green Day has already won three Grammy Awards prior to this year's win -- Best Alternative Album for 'Dookie' in 1995, Best Rock Album for 'American Idiot' in 2005 and Record of the Year for 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' in 2006.
After thanking their friends and families, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong told the L.A. crowd, "Now I'm going to go have shots with Kings of Leon."
