Pete Doherty Pelted With Bagels at Moscow Gig
- Posted on Feb 2nd 2010 5:54AM by Julian Marszalek
Beleaguered Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty was pelted with bagels when his band arrived onstage almost an hour and a half late to play a gig at the B1 Maximum Club in Moscow, Russia. The gig marked Doherty's first show since the death of filmmaker Robin Whitehead last week. Scotland Yard allegedly want to interview the singer as they investigate the circumstances surrounding her passing.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Doherty overslept at his hotel and by the time he made the stage, some of the audience got bored and left. Russian tycoon and Chelsea F.C. owner Roman Abramovich is said to have left the performance before it ended.
The bagels were thrown by disgruntled members of the audience who had paid between £45 - £1030 for a ticket. One struck Doherty on the shoulder before he picked another from the stage and ate it. Following the gig, Doherty threw a drink into a female journalist's face after she asked him about Whitehead's death.
The gig marked the end of one of Doherty's roughest weeks. On top of Whitehead -- who had been making a film about Doherty's previous band, the Libertines -- dying at the flat of a mutual friend, he was fined £750 last Wednesday for bringing heroin into a courtroom and his manager faces a custodial sentence over a hit-and-run incident.

Oh, good God. He was not 'pelted'. Last summer he had bagels on stage, so this year fans brought some more as a present.
The show was amazing, everybody loved it.
He should change his name from baby shambles to just SHAMBLES because that is what the dope taking moron is.He should have been pelted with stones instead of baggles.

February 02 2010 at 2:00 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replyhow come american musicians can get wasted and shoot dope into their arms and you praise them, but some other guy does it and he's trash. i guess if your music is good you can be a junkie?
all popular american bands that you consider legends are drug fiends.
please explain the difference between these junkies and any other strung out musician. is it ok to be a junkie and late for gigs if you have a catchy tune?
he's a rocker, and he is living up to the image of a rocker. you cant deny that.
If an entertainer is more than 15 minutes late, he should not get paid. bottom line.
all tickets - arena feesw should be refunded at ticket counter, within next 24-48 hours
way over paid morons.
but they will suffer, because unset fans will not come to future arenas, especially since the media puts the news out
There are so many better musicians you could spend your time & money. Bet you could find a dozen in your own hometown.

February 02 2010 at 12:52 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIn the early 80s, I remember seeing concert-goers at my college throw donuts at/to Deborah Idyll, the obese lead singer for Romeo Void ("Never Say Never" AKA the song with the "I might like you better if we slept together" chorus). It was mean, but damn funny at the time
