Singer-songwriter Billy Bragg is to create and perform new songs in collaboration with director Mick Gordon for a new work, 'Pressure Drop,' which will run in London from Apr. 19.Described as "part play, part gig, part installation," it will take place at the Wellcome Collection in central London as part of the venue's 'Identity Project.'
'Pressure Drop' aims to present "three generations of a white, working-class English family struggling to define themselves -- both in relation to one another and within a changing social landscape."
The social and political piece (tagline, "a drama of passion and prejudice") will not be for the faint-hearted. The 90-minute piece will feature plenty of 'explicit' language, has no interval, and no seating is allowed. You can watch a trailer for the work here.
'Pressure Drop' runs until May 12, with post-show Q&As with Bragg and Gordon taking place on Thursday Apr. 29 and Thursday May 6.
