Black Grape are to re-form for a one-off gig at London's Coronet Theatre on Apr.1, frontman Shaun Ryder has announced. The band -- including original members Danny Saber and Kermit -- have agreed to get back together for the Get Loaded in the Dark Easter special at the South London venue.
Ryder says on the event's Web site, "It's great, it's interesting, it's part two. I've had a break and now I'm back to do it. Danny Saber and I have a great working relationship and the time is right."
The band, who released only two studio albums, were feted for their 1995 debut 'It's Great When You're Straight Yeah!' which was a UK number one.
Ryder previously reformed his old band the Happy Mondays for the Get Loaded in the Park festival in Clapham in 2004. Danny Newman -- the event promoter -- commented, "Shaun promised me many years ago after we successfully reunited the Happy Mondays that if Black Grape ever reformed it would be with Get Loaded. We're delighted that he has kept his word."
The world exclusive show will coincide with the planned release of a Black Grape greatest hits compilation.
