Not content with basing the character of Jack Sparrow on him in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' films and generally being one of the ageing Rolling Stone's biggest celebrity cheerleaders, Johnny Depp is reportedly making a documentary about his hero, Keith Richards. The two have been friends for a number of years and starred together on screen when Richards joined the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' saga playing the father of Depp's character Sparrow.
Depp is quoted on Serbian website Politika as saying, "Already next week I'll start working on a Keith Richards documentary. While I'm in Drvengrad, my editor is already working on kilometres of archive footage of his concerts. I'm very touched that Keith agreed to show up in front of my cameras." The report has been translated and repeated on various websites.
Depp was last behind the camera in 1997 for 'The Brave' starring Marlon Brando. It was universally panned.
The Stones meanwhile, will not be playing Glastonbury, though fans can take solace in the fact a reissue of 'Exile On Main Street' featuring several unreleased songs is released in May.
