Weezer, the Donnas, Dean and Britta and More Help Raise Money for Cancer
From staging benefits for AIDS to natural disasters, musicians are always willing to lend a hand in any way they can. So when TargetCancer -- a non-profit organization devoted to funding research for rare cancers -- asked Weezer, Ween and Dean and Britta to be part of a charity compilation, they were more than happy to be of service. Titled 'The Right Track: Tunes to TargetCancer,' the series of downloads features new and rare songs from a variety of artists including the Donnas, Drug Rug, Cowboy Junkies and Linda Thompson. "Contributing one of our unreleased songs is a good way for us to combine raising awareness about a cause that matters to us and sharing new music with our fans and new people, too," the Donnas said in a statement.
People can pay a minimum of 99 cents for each track but also spend as much as they wish to support the organization. 'The Right Track' will also sponsor a series of events and shows where all the proceeds will go toward research funding.
You can purchase songs or make a donation at RightTrackTunes.org.
