Dizzee Rascal, Flaming Lips, Gil Scott-Heron for Bestival 2010

The first wave of artists set to perform at the seventh annual Bestival event on the Isle of Wight have been announced by festival organiser and DJ Rob Da Bank today.Dizzee Rascal, the Flaming Lips and Gil Scott-Heron lead the line-up for the three day event, which now unofficially marks the end of the UK summer festival season, and this year runs from Sep. 9 to 12.
Legendary musician Scott-Heron's first new studio album 'I'm New Here' is set for release through XL on Feb. 8, and his Bestival appearance will be one of only four live shows in the UK this year.
The festival will see appearances by Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, Four Tet, Simian Mobile Disco as well as Echo and the Bunnymen, Marc Almond and Rolf Harris.
Other artists confirmed so far include Brit Awards Critics Choice 2010 winner Ellie Goulding, Deer Tick, Beth Jeans Houghton and Ulrich Schnauss.
Rob Da Bank comments that there are "some truly amazin' acts comin' mid Feb and start of March" too.
Bestival again takes place at Robin Hill Country Park -- where the festival moved to last year -- and tickets are on sale now, priced £150.
The festival's traditional fancy dress theme for 2010 is yet to be revealed.
