Bizarre musical collaborations are nothing new -- just check the pairing of David Bowie and Bing Crosby for evidence. But 2010 has just thrown up one of the best. According to Twentyfourbit.com, Frances Bean Cobain -- the daughter of Courtney Love and the late Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain -- is set to make her singing debut on a track that includes contributions from My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way, Andrew WK, Tegan and Sara and, er, Weird Al Yankovic. They all appear on a track called 'My Space' which is set to feature on the new eponymous debut album of Evelyn Evelyn, the side-project of Dresden Dolls singer Amanda Palmer and Seattle-based musician Jason Webley. The pair claim to be "conjoined twins who had spent their lives trapped in the circus industry."
The 17-year-old Frances Bean is about to find herself in good company as also set to appear on the album are - deep breath - former Hold Steady keyboardist Franz Nicolay, Margaret Cho, Eugene Mirman and various members of Mindless Self Indulgence who count Gerard Way's wife Lyn-Z (see what she did there?) among their number.
The album is scheduled for a Mar. 30 release and the duo will tour Europe and North America shortly afterwards.
