LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy Scores Ben Stiller Movie
With a new album, U.K. tour and a headlining spot at this year's Pitchfork Music Festival, LCD Soundsystem will have a pretty full plate this year. However, frontman James Murphy has also been busy scoring the new Noah Baumbach film, 'Greenberg,' which stars comedian and actor Ben Stiller.Aside from the film's score, Murphy penned 11 solo tracks as well as the LCD song 'Oh You (Christmas Blues)' for the movie soundtrack, due out on March 22. "Its specifically-created score showcases the versatility of Murphy's musical craftsmanship with some of his most emotive, warm, introspective and stark music to date," stated a press release.
The soundtrack will also feature music from Albert Hammond (father of the Strokes' Albert Hammond, Jr.), Duran Duran, Sonics, Galaxie 500, Nite Jewel and the Steve Miller Band.
'Greenberg' will hit theaters on March 26.
