Having run for just a fortnight, a music celebrity auction arranged by Glastonbury festival organiser Emily Eavis and with help from the likes of Coldplay (Chris Martin pictured) has managed to raise an impressive £120,000 for Oxfam's Haiti appeal.A print donated by controversial British artist Damien Hirst was the charity auction's biggest success raising £12,655, whilst second highest was also artwork, an oil painting by didgeridoo-playing artist Rolf Harris which fetched £12,607.
Eavis has thanked everyone who gave away items for the appeal which will go towards a rebuilding programme in the country after the recent earthquake.
On the Glastonbury website, she said, "I'd like to thank everyone involved. Everyone's been so generous, it's fantastic to see how much people care. When we first had the idea of an auction for Haiti I never imagined we would raise so much. This should really help to rebuild some of what was lost."
Other items that were sold as part of the auction included a signed 'Viva La Vida' tour jacket, VIP tickets to this year's Glastonbury festival, and a song to be written personally for a bidder by Blur's Damon Albarn.
