It turns out Noel Gallagher won't be coming to Toronto after all. Despite stating earlier this week that he intended to read a victim impact statement at the sentencing of his Virgin Festival attacker, 48-year-old Pickering native Daniel Sullivan, the former Oasis guitarist has decided to stay away, citing scheduling difficulties and concerns of a media circus.
Sullivan, who pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm back in November of 2008, was due for sentencing last Friday but the decision was held over when Gallagher indicated his intent to come to the Toronto courthouse. Due to the retraction, the hearing has now been rescheduled for March 23.
Gallagher is currently prepping for his first solo gigs since the Oasis breakup, March 25 and 26 at London's Royal Albert Hall, for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
