Snow Patrol have announced that they will play just two concerts as a full band in the UK, in Northern Ireland and Scotland, this year. The band -- whose 2006 single 'Chasing Cars' was named the most played song of the last decade -- will headline two outdoor gigs; at Ward Park, Bangor in County Down on Jun. 5 and Glasgow's Bellahouston Park on Jun. 12.
Support on both dates will come from ethereal-sounding Seattle indie group Band of Horses, with additional support from General Fasco in Bangor, and Frightened Rabbit in Glasgow.
Snow Patrol's only other European live date confirmed for 2010 so far is on May 31, at Amsterdam's Heineken Music Hall.
Front man and chief songwriter Gary Lightbody revealed in December that he is currently recording an album in Portland, Oregon -- under the moniker Tired Pony.
Collaborators on his side-project include R.E.M.'s Peter Buck, U2 producer Jacknife Lee, Belle and Sebastian's drummer Richard Coburn and singer Iain Archer.
