While many boutique music festivals come and go, High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, Calif. will celebrate its 20th during Fourth of July weekend. This year's lineup includes the Avett Brothers (pictured), Ozomatli, Femi Kuti and Positive Force, Dr. Dog, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Bela Fleck and Wilco's kooky instrumental offshoot, the Nels Cline Singers. On Thursday, High Sierra unveiled the initial lineup in a humorous YouTube video. The clip appears to spoof Apple's recent press conference in which Steve Jobs unveiled the iPad. They're calling it..."the iSierra." Check out the new iSierra and all that it can do by clicking here.
Also of note: Both the Slip and Nathan Moore will make their annual pilgrimage to the county fairgrounds again this year. As always, they will perform their own sets before combining forces under the name Surprise Me Mr. Davis. Their presence is something of a tradition at High Sierra. Then again, after 20 years, High Sierra has many traditions. And almost all of them revolve around one thing: fun. For more information visit the official website.
