Johnny Cash, 'Ain't No Grave' -- New Song

Johnny CashWhen Johnny Cash was recording the material that would eventually form the final installments of his 'American Recordings' series, he knew his time was limited. He had just lost his wife, June Carter Cash, and he was fully aware that he would soon follow. Death was calling and he was just about ready for it. But first, he had some unfinished business in the studio.

In some ways, then, you can look at the upcoming 'American VI: Ain't No Grave' as Johnny Cash closing shop. It's the final chapter in the series and, appropriately, the songs collectively form a kind of reflective look back at a life fully lived; except, perhaps, for 'Ain't No Grave.' No, this one is a look forward. "There ain't no grave," sings Cash, "gonna hold my body down."

And while this world will never see Cash collaborate with the Avett Brothers, per se, we get a glimpse at what could've been, as brothers Scott and Seth Avett both make cameos on this track. Cash was right, of course -- there ain't no grave gonna hold his body (of work) down. Have a listen below.

STEVE has issues. ie. Spelling is not his first forte, either ( English must be his second language )It was meant to be spelled B Y not, B U Y ! I believe that Tennessee IS a Southern state, eh? As for his feeling sorry for your being from the south, I think it's envy he feels. After all in the war who "won" most of the refuges and continue to attract them with the promise of more welfare,if they vote for the Democrats?

You've misspelled almost every name of the musicians you love so much. How is that possible?
