Brooklyn rapper Theophilus London has revealed that he is part of a supergroup with celebrated producer Mark Ronson (pictured) and 'Black and Gold' singer Sam Sparro. The side-project, working under the alias of Chauffeur, has been recording tracks including a cover version of Sheila E's 'Glamorous Life' in a Brooklyn studio for the past few months.
The intriguingly-named rapper met Ronson a year ago in New York and the pair have been recording together versince.
"We became friends and started making music together," London told the BBC. "His new stuff is sounding really amazing, and it's just been a great, creative friendship."
The trio have already performed several shows in New York and hope to visit the UK next month.
Meanwhile London -- who currently features on a remix of Ellie Goulding's 'Starry Eyes' -- revealed he will feature on Ronson's forthcoming follow up to 'Version.' Called 'The Business,' the album will also feature collaborations with Santigold, Cathy Dennis, Miike Snow and the Scissor Sisters.
Unlike 'Version,' which featured radically re-tuned covers of songs by Kaiser Chiefs, Coldplay and the Zutons among others, all the songs on the new album will be original and will also be without horns or brass.
"We've just been working on tonnes of music and I definitely think I'm gonna be on his next record," London revealed. "His record's sounding really good. There's so many amazing artists and people contributing to it and Mark just re-shaping a new sound. It was great to be in that atmosphere and see him at work."
