In their first interview since a major line-up change rocked their foundation, New Jersey's Saves the Day spilled the beans to Absolute Punk about the current state of the band. Turns out, spirits are high and the forecast is sunny. In fact, frontman Chris Conley even says that right now feels like "spring, after winter" for the band.As Saves the Day prepare to release a new album, called 'Daybreak,' Conley claims that "it's going to take off to the next level of musical possibilities. Who knows what is going to happen to it, but s--- is going to be off the hook."
As he describes it, the album will usher in "phase two" for the band -- one that, like Conley's own head right now, is in a much healthier spot than ever before. But just as 'Daybreak' represents a new beginning, it will also serve as the final chapter in a trilogy that began with 'Sound the Alarm' in 2006 and continued with 'Under the Boards' in 2007.
It's as if Saves the Day are indeed facing a brand new day. And with a new day, comes new opportunity for them to, um, save it. Check out the full interview at Absolute Punk.
