Despite claiming to be retiring from the music business, Lily Allen on Tuesday night (Feb. 16) walked away with the award for Best British Solo Female at the Brit Awards. The award was presented to her by Bond theme singer Dame Shirley Bassey who looked every inch the superstar in a gold and black evening dress."Wow!" said Allen as she took the stage sporting an orange wig. "I only wore this wig 'cause I thought it would be make it difficult for the cameramen to catch my disappointed face [if I lost]!"
Lily Allen nabbed the award from nominees Bat For Lashes, Leona Lewis, Pixie Lott and Florence and the Machine.

Keep it up. Don't retire; wait till you are my age. Look at Tina, who really is simply the best, and you are on your way.

Most disappointing.
