Rick Rubin to Produce Adele's New Album

Having collected a well-deserved award for Producer of the Year at the Music Producers Guild Awards, Paul Epworth revealed that, in addition to working on the follow-up to Florence and the Machine's award-nominated album 'Lungs,' he's also working alongside producer Rick Rubin on Grammy Award winner Adele's new album.

"I've been working with Adele, just writing, not production," Epworth said to BBC 6 Music. "Rick Rubin's going to be producing her next record."

"It's been an exciting experience working with someone like her and just writing," he added. "Being like, 'Here you go, here's the song'."

Having been at the helm for seminal releases from the likes of Beastie Boys, Public Enemy and Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rubin also helped in restoring the fortunes of Johnny Cash and, more recently, Metallica and Neil Diamond.

Epworth is certainly keeping himself busy. In addition to songwriting and production duties for Adele and Florence and the Machine, Epworth is currently working on new material with Friendly Fires, Plan B and Crystal Castles.

Epworth was fulsome in his praise of Crystal Castles, saying, "I think they are very much the next generation of pop music. They're really very forward thinking."
