According to Spin, Love took five years to record the album and enlisted the help of former collaborators Linda Perry, Billy Corgan and Michael Beinhorn, who produced 1998's 'Celebrity Skin.' However, all three ended up quitting the project at some point during the recording process.
With none of Hole's original members involved in 'Nobody's Daughter,' Love formed the band with her roommate Micko Larkin to play guitar, Rock Kills Kid's Shawn Dailey on bass and drummer Stuart Fisher. Ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam member Jack Irons played drums on the album.
With all that's going on in Love's life -- most notably losing custody of her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain -- she told Spin that she's very excited for 'Nobody's Daughter' to be released. "One time, [daughter] Frances was being mean and she said, 'What are you going to do if this record fails?'" Love said. "Well, Frances, it can't fail because I love it, and I've worked really hard to make sure that I love it."
