Hockey, 'Song Away' (New Version) -- Video Premiere

Portland-based New Wave rockers Hockey set out to document odd sounds in their creative new video for 'Song Away.' Armed with a boom mic and an old-school tape recorder, the guys peruse the L.A. river in the clip, rummaging through trash to find source material worth capturing. Among the sounds recorded: bubbles, smashed guitars and fireworks, as well as some more abstract choices like a heartbroken bride.

Ben Grubin, the band's frontman, explained the origins of the video. "One morning, after a show at the Echo the night before, we woke up at 5AM to record a song in the L.A. River," he tells Spinner. "At the end of the day, we realized we had recorded a video instead." Hey, it happens. Have a look at the exclusive video premiere after the jump.
