Pearl Jam have announced they will rock 'Saturday Night Live' on March 13, performing songs from its latest album, 'Backspacer.' While a host has yet to be announced -- Betty White, perhaps? -- the appearance will mark the first time the band has been musical guests of 'SNL' since it appeared alongside Lindsay Lohan back in 2006.In related news, Eddie Vedder's solo take on Bruce Springsteen's 'My City of Ruins,' which has been released as a digital single and benefits Artists for Peace and Justice Haiti Relief, is now available for download with Ben Harper's rendition of the Springsteen's 'My Father's House,' originally from 1982's 'Nebraska.' Vedder and Harper's performances stem from December's Kennedy Center Honors, where both performers paid homage to Springsteen.
If that's not enough, PJ guitarist Mike McCready's Flight to Mars -- billed as "the UFO Tribute" -- has been confirmed to play Seattle's Showbox on April 23. Joined by Seattle hard rock mainstays Sweet Water, proceeds from the eighth annual benefit show will go to CCFA, which benefits research for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
