Pearl Jam Set for 'Saturday Night Live'

Eddie VedderPearl Jam have announced they will rock 'Saturday Night Live' on March 13, performing songs from its latest album, 'Backspacer.' While a host has yet to be announced -- Betty White, perhaps? -- the appearance will mark the first time the band has been musical guests of 'SNL' since it appeared alongside Lindsay Lohan back in 2006.

In related news, Eddie Vedder's solo take on Bruce Springsteen's 'My City of Ruins,' which has been released as a digital single and benefits Artists for Peace and Justice Haiti Relief, is now available for download with Ben Harper's rendition of the Springsteen's 'My Father's House,' originally from 1982's 'Nebraska.' Vedder and Harper's performances stem from December's Kennedy Center Honors, where both performers paid homage to Springsteen.

If that's not enough, PJ guitarist Mike McCready's Flight to Mars -- billed as "the UFO Tribute" -- has been confirmed to play Seattle's Showbox on April 23. Joined by Seattle hard rock mainstays Sweet Water, proceeds from the eighth annual benefit show will go to CCFA, which benefits research for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

Wow lolabull - those are some harsh comments! Have you ever seen Pearl Jam? I can't wait for SNL tonight! Pearl Jam is the most amazing band of the 90s and the 2000s and they deserve all the respect in the world for never conforming or selling out! They stick to what they believe in and are a truly incredible rock band! It's sad that lolabull would wish failure on someone! Even if you're not a fan, no need to share the negative energy.

I really like Eddie Vedder and his band. However, I really do not watch Saturday Night any longer, because it isn't funny. I don't blame the people who are on the show, or the "hosts", whoever, they might be. Lorne Michels must have decided he did not wish to spend the money to keep the comedians and comediennes that once were on the show. I even emailed Lorne that I missed Rachel Dratch and hoped that she would be brought back to the show. For a few months, I noticed on the "E" channel there would be a few minutes that her old skits would be on. After that, "nothing". Apparently, Tina Fey took Rachel to "30 Rock", but someone had already found someone else to replace Rachel. Needless to say, I don't watch either program. I know that 30 Rock has received more awards than SNL, but I choose not watch either one!!!

Hey we are Pearl Jam, we are so cool and are anti establishment. That is until we made a commerical for TARGET. Pearl jam is nothing but a bunch of corporate sellouts.

I can't wait to hear Pearl Jam perform songs from Backspacer on SNL! You can't beat true talent like that. Let's just hope that the host is someone worthy of PJ's presence this time.
