Paul McCartney to Play Hollywood Bowl, More Shows 'Up and Coming'
- Posted on Feb 22nd 2010 7:02PM by Benjy Eisen
Paul McCartney will bring his show back to the U.S. this spring, beginning March 28 at the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Ariz. for his first performance in that state in five years. McCartney will then head to Los Angeles for a show at the legendary Hollywood Bowl on March 30.These two shows will kickoff a more extensive tour, called 'Up and Coming,' with details and additional dates, well, up and coming. Last year, McCartney embarked on a five-week American tour that saw him perform in unusual venues and/or noteworthy locations. His upcoming tour promises more of the same. However, these shows will feature an expanded repertoire; in addition to a generous helping of hits from his catalogs with the Beatles, Wings, the Fireman and his own solo career, McCartney will include songs that have previously never been performed on American soil.
Of course, Macca's return to the Hollywood Bowl is sentimentally significant for Beatles fans -- and aren't we all? -- as he first stepped onto that stage in August 1964 with the Beatles for a performance that is now considered historic. The band returned there a year later, in 1965. Recordings taken from those shows were eventually released in 1977 as the live album 'The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl.' This time around, there may not be as many screaming teenage girls, but watch out for the throng of older women all holding up their iPhones. Stay tuned for the complete itinerary.

Ok, I have been in love with Paul since 1964. Ed Sullivan, Sunday night! Know all the lyrics....
Finally getting to see him in Hollywood in March!
It's been a long wait for my dream to come true,
I'll be in the $80 seats, so Paul you won't see me but I'll see you.
So grateful for this once in a lifetime chance. See you soon Paul....
Another loyal fan ~Wendy
Im a fan of both the Beatles and Wings.Im happy that Sir Paul is back in California. We'll be coming down to LA to see him.Rock music lives forever,no other genre could've survived such longevity but rock n'roll did.

Does Paul ever perform "Nineteen hundred eighty four"? I would kill to see that at my first McCartney show
February 23 2010 at 5:07 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replypaul doesn't just perform songs he's written. i've seen him twice. mary - he may perform some of them. just because he didn't single-handedly write them, they did a lot collaborating as a group when one member wrote a specific song. input from all members was usual. as far as "he ain't the beatle's" or any of the other dumb quotes, i don't believe anyone said he was. as far as people saying he can't sing - you have no clue who we're talking about them. you can't possibly or you know nothing about who he is as a solo performer, so please get off this blog. there is no single performer in the world loved more than paul mccartney. i'm sure he couldn't care less about your ignorant comments. do it for attention, that's fine, but don't expect anyone to take you seriously.

February 23 2010 at 2:58 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIf any of you Beatles fans get the opertunity
to see the Beatles tribute Called "RAIN"...Go
see them. You won't be disapointed. They sound
exactly like them and put on a fantastic show.
Paul is 67, and sounds better than he ever did. His last live show, released on DVD, demonstrates Paul's golden voice in his tribute songs to Linda and John. Please don't talk about ego when referring to Paul. If you want to see ego, feel free to watch MTV's show "My Cribs" where you can get a taste of the egos of young, and extremely rich performers and sports stars who have no idea what to do with their money, except to put gold toilets in their bathrooms, and have a garage full of hummers and bentleys. Paul is from a different era, and appreciates all that it took to get where he is. Thank you Paul for encouraging and teaching the young musicians in your group what good and well-written music sounds like. And by the way, Paul does not refer to himself or his band as "The Beatles", and he recognizes the amazing contributions from his former band mates. I would rather listen to his music, than most of the crap playing on the airwaves. Nothing like sampling someone else's music, and making it into "your own" song. I look forward to seeing you and your band in concert again.
