Twilight Sad Reveal New Lineup
- Posted on Feb 22nd 2010 8:05AM by Andrew Kerr
After announcing the departure of bassist Craig Orzel, the Twilight Sad confirmed that Take a Worm for a Walk Week guitarist Johnny Docherty has been drafted into the band's live line-up.After successful stints filling in on four-string duty for Desalvo and Strike the Colours, Docherty will be heading out on the road for the band's upcoming UK tour, a six-day jaunt that will see TAWFAWW provide support.
Twilight Sad singer James Alexander Graham told Spinner choosing Docherty was something of a no-brainer. "He was a friend and it was the obvious choice cause he is a great guitarist/bassist," he said.
The change in lineup is one which the frontman believes will galvanize rather than hinder the band as they look to build on inroads made by acclaimed second album 'Forget the Night Ahead.' "We feel he will help take the band to a new level and we are excited about the future of the band," he said.
That future includes work on their third album, which should be recorded by the end of the year. In the meantime, the single 'The Room' will be released on March 29, while new track 'The Wrong Car,' backed by remixes from Mogwai and Errors, will be appear as a 12" further down the line.
The tour itself kicks off in London at the Garage on March 24, and finishes with a quadrophonic homecoming at Glasgow's ABC venue on Apr. 2.
