Suede Announce Intimate Warm-Up Gigs

You wait years for your favourite band to reform and play a gig and three arrive at more or less the same time. As previously reported on Spinner, Britpop forebears Suede are to reunite for Who singer Roger Daltrey's series Teenage Cancer Trust fundraising gigs at the Royal Albert Hall in London and are scheduled to perform at the hallowed venue on Mar. 24 but now comes the news that the band are to play two warm-up gigs in some extremely intimate venues. The first warm-up show up will be played in the subterranean environs of the legendary 100 Club in London on Mar. 20 and the second will be performed at the Manchester Ritz the following night (Mar. 21).
Given the charitable nature of the reunion, tickets will be auctioned for the charity from 9am GMT on Friday (Feb. 26) on the Teenage Cancer Trust's website. The London show's tickets will be available via auction only while tickets for the Manchester date will go on general sale as well as auction.
This year's 10-night series of fundraising gigs for the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall marks the event's 10th anniversary and following the opening show by Depeche Mode on Feb. 17, the concerts continue next month with performances from, among others, Them Crooked Vultures, Arctic Monkeys, the Who and Noel Gallagher's first solo gig since quitting Oasis.
Full details of all the shows can be found at the Trust's website.
