In 2008 and 2009, musical hero David Byrne toured around the world behind an album he released with fellow luminary Brian Eno ('Everything That Happens Will Happen Today'). Always one to experiment, Byrne brought a dance troupe on the road with him to visually complement the songs. He also brought a documentary crew. The resulting documentary, entitled 'Ride, Rise, Roar,' will screen at SXSW next month. Check out the trailer to see why we're so excited for this.
"The film blends the energy and charisma of classic Talking Heads with the heartfelt pathos of David Byrne and Brian Eno's most recent collaboration," reads a statement on the film's website. "Between the songs, the film achieves an unprecedented intimacy with David Byrne and the band."
Directed by David Hillman Curtis in his feature-length debut, 'Ride, Rise, Roar' will screen on March 15 and 18 at the Paramount, and March 20 at the ACC, all part of SXSW in Austin, Texas. But if you can't make it to screenings, fret not: we're quite sure this is just the beginning. In the meantime, dust off your copy of 'Stop Making Sense.' You won't be sorry.
